The Association of Integrative Coach-Therapist Professionals (AICTP) was formed in March 2012 to promote Integrative coach-therapy Practice (ICT).

The founders of AICTP had become increasingly aware, from research, online discussion threads and conversations that coaching and therapy practitioners had a growing but unfulfilled need for supporting those who consciously integrated these and other approaches. There was no formal professional body that could provide them with the guidance and information they were seeking to support their practice. This was especially acute when their practice took them into the middle ground where coaching, counselling or therapy met.

Integrative coach-therapy practitioners typically belonged to one professional body to support their coaching work and another for therapy, yet neither body at the point of our formation was fully tackling the complex area of integration that for increasing number of practitioners make up a large part of their work.

The Opportunity

Our focus is primarily with the area of integration of coaching and therapy – not as an afterthought or a caveat – but at the core of our practice. We see this as a new third discipline that requires exploration and discussion to develop professionally.

Our aim at AICTP is to remain relevant and reflect the voice of integrative coach-therapy practitioners both in the UK and Internationally. Views of members and potential members are always taken into consideration when developing the future direction of our organisation. Diverse requirements from different geographical locations are also considered in our strategic development planning. We also aim to be practical and useful supporting our members with a blend of communication channels to share and develop their practice.
